Got a faster start on our 16 hour journey from Vancouver to Taipei thanks to Eric.



He moved us in front of a very full/busy line in the screening process at the YVR (Vancouver Airport)
i "heart" Japan Air. Flew over Alaska.




i think i "heart" Japan in general,
as i found most people (even if my experience is only based on the five hours that we had to spend
waitign for our transfer flight) very friendly and relaxed (huge pluses in my world).
Also Japanese girls are cute be it as cliche as it may.





***April 20th***

"Home"

Arrived in Taipei, Taiwan via Tokyo, Japan.
Jason Pan and Rachel (Jacky's cousin) both picked us up.



Jason showed us the apartment that we will be stayign at during our time here.
Its the one his Family used to live in,
and its amazing in my opinion.



I will be very greatful to his Family for letting us stay here.
Jason will be officially getting married this Saturday to his wife Livia and they have brand new firts baby girl Bela (Bella?).





***April 21st***


"Mosquido"

Spelt in because of a super long first day after our arrival. woke up at noon.
Think i slept close to nice hours compared to the guys - they woke up at around eight/nine in the morning.
got the much needed exstra rest.
Went on the MTR (Metro/Skytrain) to the shopping district.



Walked around the Park of Peace.
Rachel and Jason drove us to Keelung.
A post city located in the most northern part of Taiwan, some forty minutes drive from Taipei.
Very nice view of the Ocean. Very large night/daily market of food close to the Temple.



David explained to me the history behind the city and their night/food market.
What a strange ending to the night. Which reminds me that clubbing is a waste of time unless you are willing to spend some good money.
Jacky, Rob and Paul are still out with the two girls they picked up thanks to P's friend's (Harry) GF.
She basically brought two complete strangers (girls) to our table. Katie (?) and Wan-Zhu (?), the later translated from mandarin meaning - mosquido.
She is in her second year of the university.
Very "Murphy's Law" ending the to day as David lost the key to the apartment when him, Donald and me got home from the club.



None of us had a cellphone or new the number of people that would be able to help us.
Walked to Family Mart to get some food. Then while resting/waitign for people to come/wake up
we realied that i had all the numbers we needed in my wallet for emergency. It was very helpful in this situation!

Early Playoffs

This year's playoffs will be super tight, all teams fighting for spots, makes the end of the regular season very enjoyable to watch.

The ATLiens keep failing to stay ahead of the fast aging Celtics with this loss to the...Knicks (i know there are few [one] of their fans reading this). What do you think the Roster is thinking as J-Smoove is about to hammer it down left handed?

Darren Collison putting up 16 points and 20 assists! Too bad his CP3-less Hornets won't be able to make the playoffs with a .500 record in the tough west conference.

What is very interesting is that this year in the east every team might need to be at .500+ in order to make the playoffs, a rarity in recent years.

Saw a small Snoop Dogg concert at the Commodore Ballroom last night. Eat a huge banana in Big Bird's car then peeled one more in Big Bear's car before hopping on the skytrain on the way to downtown. Snoop almost disappointed because he showed up at around 1040, the show was scheduled for 0800 and when we got in we were told it will start at 0900. Vic wasn't able to stand his ground in the front of the stage in the second row, but he stayed inside Commodore and watched it all still just form a bit further back.

...now onto the bright/good things that happened over the Friday/Saturday NBA festivities.

The HORSE contest was a ton of fun with some really cool trick shots but it was all cut short due to time restriction on the television and was turned into a three point contest between the last two (Omri Casspi being the only one out by that point) remaining contestants by the time that had to go into the "rush" mode. Of course K.Durant easily beat R.Rondo despite Rondo's surprisingly very good shooting.

The Skills Competition, which was won by one of the last Olympic torch bearers; just some twenty hours prior, can be summarized in this one photo below:

The Shooting Stars event was a 'yawn' as the team with the better shooters won, simple as that. And no, i will not be posting a photo of Kenny Smith on my blog!

Okay, for those that read this far there is a treat as you get to see the REAL Slam Dunk Contest that happened over the weekend at Dallas but was not televised. No, i am not talking about the D-League one, although that was still better then the NBA one even if only based on the final dunk. Anyways here it is:
