Three Songs

In the last few months i have been listening to the three songs below almost none stop. Of course, i may listen to some Akon, Aznavour, SOD, and Mr.Buddz, but i always can not help myself and come back to these songs. It is like i need them as we all need water.

The Pixies's 'Hey' i came upon by accident from the movie 'Fight Club' and their more famous 'Where Is My Mind'. It helped me discover this band.

Bob Dylan
's 'Times Are Changin' was the song for one of the best opening scenes to a movie. That movie being The Watchmen.

The last song on here is by Jimmi Hendrix and i love to turn it up and listen to his voice and that guitar as loud as i possibly can!

Real People

"Vlad!!!!

Of course I remember you! You were the happiest guy at work where everyone else was soooo miserable. Seriously, it put a smile on my face to see your name pop up. How are you??? I quickly read your message...but are you in this side of the ocean or back in Vancouver?? I'm going to school in Sweden. Packing up to go home as we speak. 9 months away from home, and away from husband licks balls but I am living my dream - so just something to endure. I will be home over the summer to work at the dreaded Costco but will head back to Sweden soon after. What have you been up to??

Really glad to hear from you my friend.....A"

Richmond Dike

Had to see "UP" for the second time.
yes i like it that much especially in 3D when they give you these cool stylish glasses. Not like the old times when they were made out of cardboard and very light, basically one time use and throw away type. These new ones are actually fashionable. Well, at least that's what i think and i know 'some' people/monkeys that wore them the whole night after the movie:

small world

way to go and make me cry.
found this on Charles Aznavour youtube users account.
feel as if i was torn away from my Motherland.
but my life is here now.
how ironic that the song is in Svenska.
as most of the people i am close to were born there.

Charles Aznavour

My favorite singer of all time.
Able to sing in four languages. Yes four!
French, English, Spanish, and Russian.
He is so funny, smart and witty.
See his acting in this song.

UP in 3D by Pixar

WoW

The Official Zhuk Movie Ratings: 9.5/10 babanas

So enjoyable, creative and funny. It had me almost in tears from sadness to laughter from one scene to the next. The Pixar company really came through on their tenth film.

Vancouver Art Gallery

Got some bananas by Erica's house. Then of to the Art Gallery. But we needed some snacks before we went in. So we got ourselves some Japa-Dogs. If you haven't had a japa-dog then you are missing out. They are famous all over the world. Once you have one of these babies you will never ever in your life buy a hot-dog from any corner stand. It just won't be a Japa-Dog.

Right before we were about to enter the gallery we stopped by to see this the ending of a similar (similar because this was taken after we came out of the gallery, but one of the opponents was the same) turbo chess match. They went crazy fast and the end and the guy not in this photo (some chilled twenty year old white guy) won it in the last second!

We were waiting in line to make our "donation" of ten dollars for the four of us to enter the gallery when ViC came back from the washroom and started making his own art on the pillar. How much ViC? 500,000$?!

Trippin' inside the gallery...

Oh, there was one really interesting exhibit of very large photography made small. The artist likes taking photographs of large gatherings of people and their works on a very large scale. His name was Andreas Gursky. Here is my own impression of him on the right using Patrik's camera at the Robson HMV music store (former Virgin Music Mega Store):

These little cinemas at the art gallery were so funny and interesting. This particular one was a black and white silent movie with an automatic piano playing right under it starring some Asian guy in the lead role. It was very funny and trippy.

I am very glad i caught this street painting in time:

(will get back to it later, ViC told me the artist wrote beside it "to all the beautiful women of Vancouver". And to me the woman on this painting is very familiar. She reminds me of a woman in one of very famous artist's works. Most likely to be of some 17th century Italian painter)

Of course we were very hungry and had to finish the night at our favorite place to eat this month Guu. Had some Mohitas. A lot of different dishes.

Phil Ivey...

He just won his second WSOP bracelet this year in a span of a week and 7th in his life time.

But whats more impressive is he won around $20mil+ in all his prop bets vs various high stakes players.
He is simply Sick

at least he is human as we can see in this video:

if you don't see things differently then you are a fish.

...oh and Lakers won the NBA championship today, but it was so 'YAWN'/predictable since last year when they lost to the Celtics in the Finals.
Phil Jackson becomes the greatest coach in the history. 10 of the last 19 NBA titles have been won by teams coached by him.
Kobe gets his MVP of course. Players such as Adam Morrison, Didier Ilunga-Mbenga and Sun Yue get a ring a la Tyrone Lue who was ironically in street clothes on the Magic bench after suiting up all their previous games.
We finally know who is Luke Walton's real father:

C.Webber type of a mistake in NBA Finals?!

"Picture"

June 11, 2009

What a trip. Woke up to see the Lakers game. Yes, that means i woke up around 1700. Very good game. Dumb coaching or dumb player (J.Nelson) not to foul or at least force D.Fish into a two pointer, be it from then line or a lay up with eleven seconds to go in the regulation with Magic being up three points.
Shrek, ViC, Patrik, Vinny and Greg came to get me. Met Luis in Downtown. He works then goes to MMA training all mostly by bus, he needs three different shirts for day, one for work, one for MMA and one for bus. We all went to the Guu on Robson Street. Had a lot of beer and mohitas (spl?).

All the food tasted very good. Then walked down on Granville Street. Saw a lot of working girls. Never realized there are so many of them working. Guess it was peak time for them. Around midnight.
Went back to Richmond to pick up Patrik's "Lacoste shoe box"...thats when the night took some strange turns:

OMG, i just wrote down the whole tripping experience and by accident clicked back and i wasn't able to save it!!!

Poke Her Bungler

(all poker stories from 2p2ers playing LIVE pokerz)

- Button limps for 800 with approximately 8-10 BB's remaining.

- Small blind completes.
- My friend pushes all in from the big blind (with A5) with 8 BB's remaining.
- Button snap calls and turns over 88.

My friend says: "You had 8's on the button? Why didn't you raise?"

Button's response: "Because I only had eights"

My friend: "Then why did you call the all in?"

Button's response: "Because I had eights."

Young East Indian kid sits down next to me UTG. Dealer pitches the cards around and looks at him for action. The kid hasn't even unracked yet, looks confused and stares back at the dealer.

"$3 to call"
The kid throws in three white chips.

Action moves around, being raised (and maybe re-raised). When it gets back to the kid, he looks at me and says "Can I look at my cards yet?"

I can't help myself "Have you already put some money in?"

"Yes, sir. Three of the white ones."

"Sorry. You can't look now. Throw in six more."

He played the whole hand blind...

Heads up pre-flop.

Lady: I think you have aces but I call.
Me: Why did you call if you think he has aces?
Lady: Well, if he has aces, my 4-4 is about the same as K-K there. And there is no way I am folding K-K pre-flop.

1/2 at the Orleans in Vegas. 6-way limped pot, SB folds and the BB shoves all-in for $79. Everyone folds except for the Button who forcibly says "Call" and flips over his hand - 95 offsuit.

BB looks confused, turns over JJ, the dealer runs the board and the BB wins the hand.

As I'm sitting next to the Button, I ask him, "Um...you mind me asking why you called his all-in with 95?"

The guy looks at me like I'm a total noob and replies, "I had position."
