Vancouver Art Gallery

Got some bananas by Erica's house. Then of to the Art Gallery. But we needed some snacks before we went in. So we got ourselves some Japa-Dogs. If you haven't had a japa-dog then you are missing out. They are famous all over the world. Once you have one of these babies you will never ever in your life buy a hot-dog from any corner stand. It just won't be a Japa-Dog.

Right before we were about to enter the gallery we stopped by to see this the ending of a similar (similar because this was taken after we came out of the gallery, but one of the opponents was the same) turbo chess match. They went crazy fast and the end and the guy not in this photo (some chilled twenty year old white guy) won it in the last second!

We were waiting in line to make our "donation" of ten dollars for the four of us to enter the gallery when ViC came back from the washroom and started making his own art on the pillar. How much ViC? 500,000$?!

Trippin' inside the gallery...

Oh, there was one really interesting exhibit of very large photography made small. The artist likes taking photographs of large gatherings of people and their works on a very large scale. His name was Andreas Gursky. Here is my own impression of him on the right using Patrik's camera at the Robson HMV music store (former Virgin Music Mega Store):

These little cinemas at the art gallery were so funny and interesting. This particular one was a black and white silent movie with an automatic piano playing right under it starring some Asian guy in the lead role. It was very funny and trippy.

I am very glad i caught this street painting in time:

(will get back to it later, ViC told me the artist wrote beside it "to all the beautiful women of Vancouver". And to me the woman on this painting is very familiar. She reminds me of a woman in one of very famous artist's works. Most likely to be of some 17th century Italian painter)

Of course we were very hungry and had to finish the night at our favorite place to eat this month Guu. Had some Mohitas. A lot of different dishes.
